Happy Dance - Rainbow Fish

This was the free cover kit that came with Cross Stitch Crazy #243.  I replaced the 14-count white Aida because it was too crooked to deal with.  I also replaced all the floss that came with it with the listed DMC from my stash since I was having a lot of trouble figuring out which color was which.  It is stitched as charted though.

It came with the sequins, aperture card and envelope and has now been finished into an FFO.

WIP Wednesday - 6/27/2018

I got quite a bit of stitching done this past week and worked on three different projects. I did not stitch on Friday, because I did my volunteer shift and then went to the Angels game, but I managed to stitch at least a couple of hours the rest of the week.

I continued working on Rainbow Fish and I'm almost done now.  It should only take another 2 or 3 more days.

I started back with a modified  rotation and picked up Tinkerbell again.  The last time I worked on her was in March.  The difference is only about 500 stitches though.

After I put Tinkerbell away, I pulled out Advent Animals and worked on #5 (Hattie Hedgehog).  The last time I stitched on her was during Maynia.  She'll be a finish sometime this week, too.

I know it doesn't look like much, but that fish is very time-consuming what with all the confetti and 1/4 stitches.

WIP Wednesday - 6/20/2018

After finishing both the February Cottage and the Fabulous Raspberry this week, I started the Rainbow Fish which is the free cover kit that came with Cross Stitch Crazy #243.  

I changed out both the fabric and floss, because the fabric was warped and I had trouble separating the floss because of all the blues.

This is the third Fabulous Fruit square that I've done so far.  It's from the Crazy for... section of Cross Stitch Crazy #192 and I intend to all of them eventually.  

It's stitched on white 14-count Aida with the called for DMC.  I'd say it was stitched as charted, but there were at least three unintentional customizations involved.

This is part of the Cottage of the Month series by Country Cottage Needlework.  It's stitched on white 14-count Aida as charted with the called for DMC. 

This was stitched for a SAL on Quilts for Older Children and Adults. The only change I made was to outline the white in 415 (light gray) as requested by the group because of the white on white background.

WIP Wednesday - 6/12/2018

I know I missed a couple of Wednesdays, but both my WIPs are now finishes (except for Stitch Maynia which I'll do in a separate post) so I'm going to skip the catch up posts.

Other than finishing both the Valentine Heart and Dream Big this week, the only thing I worked on is the February Cottage from Country Cottage Needlework which I started on June 8th.

It's being stitched on 14-count white Aida in the called for DMC colors for the Q4OC group.

This was an Artiste kit that I bought at Hobby Lobby.  It's stitched on 14-count white Aida from my stash.  I replaced the fabric because I stitched this for the Inspirational Sayings SAL at World of Charity Stitching and the fabric provided in the kit wasn't big enough.  

It took so long to stitch (it's not really that hard or big), because I had to start over after doing the center and a couple of the petals.  At that point I was close to running out of two of the floss colors and still had a lot to do.  I couldn't find a conversion chart anywhere so I finally compared the floss to my DMC color guide and made the conversions myself.  I converted all of the colors just to be safe.

Happy Dance - Valentine Heart

The chart for this heart can be found here.  It's stitched on 14-count white Aida with DMC Coloris Thread #4507.  123Stitch calls it Bougainvillea.  I stitched it for the Valentine Heart SAL over at Quilts for Older Children and Adults.
