Weekly Update - 11/5/2020

It's been a long time since I've done a weekly update, but I'm finally back on track, at least somewhat, so I decided it was time to start again.

First up is my Peppermint Purple SAL.  Since my last update, I've stitched the squares for weeks 44 and 45.  Week 44 was stitched with DMC Variegated #75 and took 1 hour 16 minutes to stitch.

Week 44 was stitched with DMC Variegated #52 and took 34 minutes to stitch.

It's hard to believe that there's only seven weeks left until the end of the SAL AND the end of the year.  It's even too big for my scanner now.

Next up is my large project that is being worked on Q-Snaps on my floor stand.  Because it's a SAL that's supposed to be done by the end of the year, I've pulled out Deer Scene.

Somehow, I've also managed to get involved with the 2020 Christmasitis Group on Facebook where we're supposed to start a new Christmas project everyday during both November and December so I've decided to include my starts here as well.  I don't know how many I'll actually get started, but I do have a lot I'd like to stitch so I'll do as many as I can.

November 1st - Modern Nordic Ornament (2017 JCS Ornament Issue - Ink Circles)  This is being stitched on 14-count Gold Flecked Aida with Coloris #4519.

November 2nd - Gingerbread Santa (Winter 2015 Cross Stitch & Needlework - Barbara Sestok) This is being stitched on brown perforated paper with the called for DMC except that I couldn't find my 435 so I'm using 436 and 437 for the border instead of 435 and 436.

November 3rd - Gingerbread Girl (Winter 2015 Cross Stitch & Needlework - Barbara Sestok)  This is being stitched on brown perforated paper with the called for DMC except that I couldn't find my 435 so I'm using 436 and 437 for the border instead of 435 and 436.

November 4th - Winter Retro Car (The World of Cross Stitching #261 - Cheryl McKinnon)  After I took the picture, I changed my mind about the fabric so I'm actually using 14-count white Aida and stitching the car in DMC 666.

Peppermint Purple Update - Catch Up Post

Even though I have't been posting Peppermint Purple updates, I have been keeping up with the stitching. So, finally, here's where I'm at now.  I'm sorry for the poor picture, but this piece is now too big for my scanner and my cell phone doesn't do quite as good a job.

Week 26 was stitched with DMC Variegated #52 and took 31 minutes to stitch.

Week 27 was stitched with DMC Variegated #61 and took 45 minutes to stitch.

Week 28 was stitched with DMC #721 and took 36 minutes to stitch.

Week 29 was stitched with DMC Variegated #90 and took 46 minutes to stitch.

Week 30 was stitched with DMC Variations #4090 and took 1 hour 30 minutes to stitch.

Week 31 was stitched with DMC 602 and took 1 hour 10 minutes to stitch.

Week 32 was stitched with DMC Variations #4245 and took 45 minutes to stitch.

Week 33 was stitched with DMC 890 and took 55 minutes to stitch.

Week 34 was stitched with DMC 310 and took 30 minutes to stitch.

Week 35 was stitched with DMC Coloris Floss #4507 and took 1 hour 23 minutes to stitch.

Week 36 was stitched with DMC #996 and took 35 minutes to stitch.

Week 37 was stitched with DMC Variations #4240 and took 39 minutes to stitch.

Week 38 was stitched with DMC Variegated #53 and took 1 hour 2 minutes to stitch.

Week 39 was stitched with DMC Variations #4022 and took 47 minutes to stitch.

Week 40 was stitched with DMC #721 and took 42 minutes to stitch.

Week 41 was stitched with DMC Variegated #90 and took 1 hour 29 minutes to stitch.

Week 42 was stitched with DMC Variations #4090 and took 39 minutes to stitch.

Week 43 was stitched with DMC 602 and took 48 minutes to stitch.

And now I'm all caught up until Week 44 is released next Wednesday.  It's hard to believe there are only nine weeks left.  There will be a 2021 SAL, but I'm not sure yet whether I want to participate or not.  There are a couple of other Peppermint Purple Blackwork pieces that I'd like to do and may do those instead.

Weekly Update - 7/24/2020

My update is late this week, because I couldn't find the color I was supposed to use for this week's Peppermint Purple SAL.  I had recorded it as 4090 and that turned out to be a yellowish thread.  I also did not have the floss in my SAL bag.  After looking all over the place, I decided to try to match it to a non-variations floss which I did last night.  It's not perfect, but it's close.

I stitched on Week 30 of the SAL for 1 hour 10 minutes using DMC 3810.

The Ronald McDonald House Sampler is continuing to grow and should be finished soon.

Weekly Update - 6/19/2020

My weekly update is a little late this week, because my internet was out completely.  It had been partially out for almost two weeks and I could access some things, but not others.  Then on Thursday, it went out completely.  After hours on the phone, it finally came back late yesterday.

Peppermint Purple
Week 25 was stitched with DMC 75 and took one hour and 45 minutes.  I had trouble wrapping my head around this one, but it finally started making sense when I decided to work vertically instead of horizontally.

Picachu of
I'm using the new Blogger and haven't figured out how to add a caption yet.  (Any help would be appreciated.)  This is Picachu as of 6/10/2020 after 5 hours 13 minutes of stitching.

And here he is as of 6/19/2020 after 10 hours and 55 minutes of stitching time.  Yes, he got a little more time this week than usual, because I really wanted to finish his body.

Since it will take me awhile to finish Picachu and I'm already updating the Peppermint Purple SAL on a weekly basis, I thought I'd combine the two into a weekly update.

Peppermint Purple SAL
