Fully Finished Gallery - February, 2025

I had four fully finished objects this month. The first two were ugly sweaters stitched in January.  I added a hanger and backed them with felt.

The other two were the Mill Hill ornaments from my WIPGO board for February.  I made hangers from the leftover beads and backed them with felt.

My first two fully finished objects are Santa Paws from the Mill Hill Holiday Collection and Gingerbread Lass from the Mill Hill Beaded Holiday Collection.  I added a hanger of leftover beads and backed them with shades of green felt.

The third and fourth objects were from Cross Stitcher Magazine #377 and designed by Emma Congdon and were stitched in 2024.  Today, I added ribbon hangers and coordinating felt backings.

I've set a goal to fully finish the pieces as I complete the stitching and so far, I'm meeting that goal. This month I FFO'd four stocking ornaments--two that I stitched this month and two others that I'd stitched a couple of years ago.  They're all finished by adding a ribbon hanger and backing with felt.

 And finally, I FFO'd last night's finish of Birdhouse Coaster. by adding a felt backing and a magnet    It's now displayed on my refrigerator.

Rachel has also requested that we show some of our finished pieces from our Box of Shame or in my case, a Drawer of Shame. Here are a few Christmas ornaments that have been hanging around for awhile.   I would like to know how you would finish them without using a sewing machine.   I do have bunches of Christmas fabric hanging around.  All except the mouse are stitched on 14-count Aida, the mouse is on evenweave.

I've set a goal to fully finish the pieces as I complete the stitching and so far, I'm meeting that goal.  The following ornaments were finished in late December.

The first two were done as a flat ornament fringed and backed with a 3x5 card cut to size and the fabric shown after a ribbon hanger was added.

The next one was made into a pillow ornament with a backing of the same fabric as the front.

 The next two were finished as flat ornaments using the shapes that came with the magazine charts.

 

 The next one had a ribbon added and then was backed with felt.

I haven't posted my finishes since March, but I went on a finishing spree in November to finish the ornaments going to the Ronald McDonald House in Orange, CA.  There's too many to post details, but here they are for the record.

I finished finished five projects this month.  First up is HO HO HO, which I finished twice.  I accidentally cut the Aida a smidge too small for the frame, so I backed it with felt and added a ribbon hanger.

Next was Kitty Love.  I added a felt backing and a magnet.

The next two snowmen were also backed with felt and given hangers of silver cording.

 Finally, Wreath Mouse was fringed, backed with cardboard and the fabric shown in the picture and given a hanger of red cording.

Since I needed to make up for my lack of finishes for February and March, I pulled out a bunch that juts needed backings and hangers.  The first six were stitched several years ago; the seventh was stitched in January of this year.

My husband also framed Blow Bubbles, a gift for my granddaughter's fifteenth birthday.

I only managed to fully finish two ornaments this month and they'll both be going to the Ronald McDonald House in Orange, CA.

First up this month is Mickey Mouse, which I finished into a small pillow ornament. This is the first time I've used a fabric backing that's not the same as the front.  It was definitely a learning experience, but I'll definitely do it again.  The hanger is a length of gold cord.

 The second is the Jolly Jumper which came with the materials to finish it into a pin.  I used the blue felt that came with the kit as a backing and added a hanger of white beads.
