Happy Dance - Little Miss Cross Stitch (Redo)

Started: 2/15/2025

Finished: 2/18/2025

Total Time: 9 hours and 43 minutes

This is the first Stitch-It Bundle of 2025 from Amanda Dion of Creatively Crafting.  Yes, I stitched it a second time.  I decided I'd prefer to do this set of charts on Aida instead of evenweave, because I wasn't happy with this finish.

It's stitched as charted on Vintage Country Mocha 14-count Aida with the called for DMC except that the floss skein was supposed to be stitched in bright yellow (not one of my favorite colors).

Once, all 12 squares have been completed, they will be made into a quilt.

Happy Dance - Mer-Cupid

Started: 2/11/2025

Finished: 2/15/2025

Total Time: 10 hours and 8 minutes

Mer-Cupid is the February Mini Freebie from Creatively Crafting (Amanda Dion) and is part of the Mer-Things SAL.

I'm doing all 12 charts on one piece of 14-count Silver Moon Aida.  Mer-Cupid is stitched with the called for DMC, but there are several unintentional modifications and I cleaned up some of the back stitch since I don't like splitting squares when it doesn't really add to the design.

This one's for me and I hope to eventually hang it in my bathroom.

Mer-Maid is the January Mini Freebie from Creatively Crafting (Amanda Dion) and is part of the Mer-Things SAL.

I'm doing all 12 charts on one piece of 14-count Silver Moon Aida.  I left off the bubbles with the year in them, but otherwise it's stitched as charted with the called for DMC.

This one's for me and I hope to eventually hang it in my bathroom.

Happy Dance - Christmas Cactus

Started: 2/1/2025

Finished: 2/3/2025

Total Time: 9 hours and 31 minutes

Christmas Cactus is part of the Mill Hill Winter Holiday Collection.

It's stitched mostly as charted using the provided materials.. I did discover that my Santa hat has more white and less red than called for, because the two symbols were too much alike. (< and <, one is bold)

This will be made into a Christmas ornament for  Ronald McDonald House in Orange, CA

Happy Dance - Starfish

Started: 1/26/2025

Finished: 1/31/2025

Total Time: 21 hours and 26 minutes

This is the January Stitch Me Bonus from Amanda Dion at Creatively Crafting.  This year the squares are all sea creatures.

It's stitched mostly as charted on 14-count printed Dew Aida by DMC. I left off the bubbles surrounding the starfish and some of the back stitch because it didn't show up enough to add to the project.  It is stitched with all of the called for colors, but  the chart did call for E316 and I used regular 316 instead.

It took so long because I restarted it three times.  The first time was on 25-count Lugana, but I was having so much trouble seeing the holes that I restarted it on the Aida after about an hour of struggling.  The second time I was almost halfway done when I realized that it was badly mis-centered.

Once, all 12 squares have been completed, they will be made into a quilt.  The destination depends on who I get to do the quilting.

Happy Dance - Little Miss Cross Stitch

Started: 1/20/2025

Finished: 1/25/2025

Total Time: 12 hours and 34 minutes

This is the first Stitch-It Bundle of 2025 from Amanda Dion of Creatively Crafting

It's stitched mostly as charted on an unknown color of 28-count Jobelan with the called for DMC except that the floss skein was supposed to be stitched in bright yellow (not one of my favorite colors).  I also stitched the eyes which were supposed to remain unstitched.

There was a major error which required the frogging of almost everything above her eyes.  In the process of doing so, I accidentally snipped the fabric.  With my daughter's help, I figured out how to cover the error and rewove the area.

Once, all 12 squares have been completed, they will be made into a quilt.

Happy Dance - Snowman Sweater

Started: 1/12/2025

Finished: 1/20/2025

Total Time: 7 hours and 5 minutes

This is another part of an Emma Congdon design of nine ugly sweaters and can be found in  Cross Stitcher Magazine #377.

It's stitched as charted with the called for DMC floss on white 14-count plastic canvas. I did change the carrot from 783 to 721 since carrots should be orange and not gold.

It's now an ornament that will be given to the local Ronald McDonald House this coming Christmas.

Happy Dance - Gingerbread Lass

Started: 1/3/2025

Finished: 1/9/2025

Total Time: 14 hours and 4 minutes

Gingerbread Lass is a Mill Hill Beaded Holiday Kit and is stitched entirely with beads.

It's stitched as charted with the materials provided.  I did run out of the thread, but I was able to match it to some in my stash.  It took so long to stitch because I miscounted in the very first row and after 6 rows, found the mistake and had to start over.  That was just too many beads to frog.

She's going to be made into an ornament and given to the local Ronald McDonald House this coming Christmas.

Happy Dance - Birdhouse Coaster

Started: 2/6/2024

Finished: 2/9/2024

Total Time: 10 hours and 37 minutes

This is called Birdhouse Coaster and was distributed by MCG Textiles.  It was a circular chart that I found loose in my stash, but I don't know where I got it.  I'm assuming that it was part of a series, but I don't even know that.

It's stitched as charted with the called for DMC on 14-count white plastic canvas.

Instead of making it into a coaster, I'm going to make it into a magnet and display it on my refrigerator.  Yes, it's one of the rare items that I stitched for myself.

Happy Dance - PJ Critters - Lion

Started: 12/30/2023

Finished: 1/23/24

Total Time: 43 hours and 32 minutes

This is the lion from the PJ Critters chart set by Cross Stitch Wonders.  It's stitched on 14-count Dew Printed Aida by Charles Craft and it was a great fabric to work on.  I used DMC from my stash and stitched it as charted except for a few unintentional customizations and some simplified backstitching since the called for backstitching split the Aida squares in places.

It has been mailed to Q4OC (Quilts for Older Children and Adults) and will be made into a quilt for a premature baby through the Angel Quilt Project.
