Happy Dance - Santa's Secret

This is a Gold Petite kit from Dimensions that was my Christmas present to myself in 2016.  I stitched it as part of the Dimensions Kit SAL on Facebook and finished it three days before the SAL ended.

It's stitched on 18-count white Aida with the kit floss.  I can't say it was stitched as charted because, there are a lot of unintentional customizations especially in his beard.  I also ran out of several colors and came close to abandoning it a couple of weeks ago, but because of encouragement from the group, I perservered and finished it just in time.

WIP Wednesday - 12/13/2017

Again, I didn't stitch on this a lot this past week.  The backstitching is very difficult and frustrating and I've run out of 18500.  I'm trying to find a match in my stash though.  DMC doesn't work so I pulled an Anchor equivalent this morning that I'm hoping will work.

WIP Wednesday - 12/6/2017

I'm back with an update on Santa's Secret.  I only stitched on it for about an hour a day for five days this week--the backstitching is driving me bonkers.

There's more than a week between the two pictures, because once I finished the cross stitching I set it aside until December 1st.

WIP Wednesday

 I currently have one focus piece that I complete a 10x10 block on each day and then move on to a smaller piece.  This way I'm having frequent happy dances, but also working on some of my larger pieces as well.  I'm hoping to do a WIP Wednesday post to show the progress on my focus piece.

This week's focus piece is Santa's Secret a Gold Petite kit from Dimensions.  It's stitched as charted with the materials in the kit except for several unintentional customizations and thread substitutions when I ran out of the kit thread.  All of the cross stitching is done and it's ready to start the backstitching, but I'm taking a short break and will start the backstitch on Friday.

This was my Christmas present to myself last year and I'm stitching it for the Dimensions Kit SAL so it needs to be completed by 12/31/17.

WIP Wednesday - 9/20/2017

My only current WIP this week is Santa's Secret, a Dimensions Gold Petite kit.  I'm now approximately half way done with this project so it's been set aside for awhile.  The Dimensions Kit SAL Facebook group has a SAL a couple of times a month and I will pull it out again for the next one.

WIP Wednesday - 9/6/2017

I have two currently active WIPs (and many more inactive ones). 

The first is Buttercup Cat from Mill Hill.  When my granddaughter was here at the end of August, she went through my Mill Hill ornament stash and chose this one for Grandma to make for her.

 I set it aside to participate in the Back to School, Back to Stitching SAL in the Dimensions Kit SAL Group that began on September 1st.
